Goldhofer THP/SL-L modular trailer — 36 axle lines — with Greiner side girder bridge. Modular heavy-duty transport vehicle, 36 axle lines, with intermediate loading ramp.
Composite trailer for transporting very heavy loads, consisting of 36 axle lines and a 350-ton side girder bridge from Greiner Heavy Engineering, a steel construction with a loading bed for large machinery. The vehicle in the photo was recently put into service by Collett & Sons Ltd. of Halifax, UK, specializing in heavy transport. The handover of this enormous vehicle took place at the Goldhofer factory in Memmingen, Germany, and was combined with a test setup with overload tests.
Collett & Sons is one of Europe’s leading transporters of large objects for the offshore and energy sectors. The company strives for maximum precision and flexibility in finding technical solutions for these types of logistical challenges. The Goldhofer THP/SL-L family represents top performance in road transport of particularly heavy and bulky loads. Thanks to their low tare weight and compact design, the THP/SL-L modules are ideal for use with limited axle loads and high bending moments.
The axle modules of the THP/SL-L series can be linked together indefinitely, both lengthwise and widthwise, so there are essentially no limitations on volume and payload.

The largely enclosed loading platform ensures high torsional rigidity and operational safety – even under extreme conditions. Like the entire THP/SL family, the modules can be universally combined and seamlessly integrated into existing fleets. The Goldhofer THP/SL-L truly proves its strengths in combination with loading bridges, such as the Greiner Heavy Engineering side-girder bridge: Specially designed for transporting large components such as transformers or reactors, the complete combination offers maximum flexibility and operational safety, with a lifting capacity of up to 350 tons and a modular scissor lift system.
Goldhofer, Greiner, and Collett express their desire for an open exchange of technical expertise and a shared goal of further developing innovative transport solutions. For all involved, the project is a milestone – not only from a technical perspective, but also as an expression of mutual respect and strategic vision.
The Goldhofer/Greiner Collett partnership recently made headlines with news about the road transport of transformers used to expand the electricity grid.
