Ultra-low chassis of the DAF XD, designed for car transporters. This chassis can now be ordered ex-factory from DAF. Available with an 11-liter diesel engine, with outputs from 220 to 330 kW (300 to 450 hp).
The XD’s low-deck chassis serves as the basis, which has been further lowered by lowering the suspension by 4 cm. This results in a chassis height of only 83 cm, with the rear wheels still being slightly higher than the chassis (clearly visible in the photo). The cab roof has been lowered by 18 cm and can optionally be beveled at the rear, allowing you to transport up to nine passenger cars with a combination. Driver comfort remains unaffected, DAF reports: this cab still features a full-sized sleeping area for the driver.
The front and rear axles are mounted on 22.5-inch rims with low-profile tires. Also available as a 6×2 with a 17.5-inch 4.5-ton pusher axle (non-liftable).
Predictive Cruise Control comes standard, with a choice of traditional mirrors or cam mirrors. A blind-spot camera is also included. Suitable for bodies such as Groenewold, Rolfo, or Kässbohrer. Other bodies, such as those for transporting machinery or trucks, can also be used.
