A frequently sold configuration of the DAF XG+ chassis (known for its spacious cabin) is the 6×2 version with a body for transporting BDF swap containers. The abbreviation “BDF” stands for “Box-Demountable Flooring”, a system in which containers can be quickly and easily mounted on a chassis and removed again, in plain English a swap body system. The vehicle in the photo has a swap body system from the German supplier SDG Modultechnik GmbH.
The DAF XG+ 480 FAN 6×2 with the 483 hp (355 kW) PACCAR MX-13 engine, 12-speed TraXon automatic transmission and MX engine brake combines good performance with excellent fuel consumption. This makes profitable BDF transport possible, even under challenging conditions. The mounted swap system is an SDG Multiwechsler HV120KT with parking heights from 112 to 132 cm. Advantages of the modular design are weight savings, greater flexibility and shorter assembly times.
