MAN 4×2 chassis configured as a recovery vehicle. A container can be placed on the ramp for the recovery of electric or hybrid cars, as shown in the photo. The wrecked car is then lifted into the container using the loading crane, a Fassi F245C. At the depot, the recovered car is submerged in water for 48 hours to cool.
The MAN TGM chassis is available in various weight classes. This is the 19-ton version with a wheelbase of 542.5 cm. It has a 6900 cc diesel engine with 290 hp / 213 kW.
Hybrid and electric cars pose a significant fire risk because the batteries can short-circuit and explode.
