Volvo Trucks is introducing a new electric city truck: the FL 14 Electric. This is the 14-tonne version of the Volvo FL Electric, characterized by being 15 cm narrower than the FL 16 Electric (240 cm instead of 255 cm at its widest point). This makes it more suitable for use in city centers.
This city version comes standard with four battery packs, with a combined usable capacity of 145 kWh, good for approximately 200 km (depending on driving style and conditions). The shortest available wheelbase is 380 cm, the longest 650 cm. The four batteries are mounted in pairs, one above the other; in the photo, it looks like two batteries.
Volvo Trucks calls the FL 14 Electric its entry-level model for electric transport, intended for door-to-door deliveries in urban areas. The Swedish company also offers trucks with higher payloads and heavier batteries: the FL 16 (available with two to six battery packs), soon the FL 18, and also the FE (up to 28 tonnes gvw), the FM, and the FH. Within the Volvo Group, electric trucks are also available with the Renault label, starting with the Renault E-Tech D14, which is technically very similar to the Volvo FL 14.
Production of the new 14-ton Volvo Trucks FL Electric will begin in the second half of 2026.
