Volvo Trucks FH Aero Electric 6×2 — electric tractor with a long range. Equipped with 8 batteries, e-axle, four-ton tag axle and MCS charging system.
An electric truck specially designed for long distances. This is the concept that Volvo Trucks has developed for this. The streamlined FH Aero Electric is equipped with an electric motor directly on the drive axle, a thick battery pack (max. 780 kWh) and a four-ton tag axle for extra load capacity. Thanks to the MCS charging system, the battery packs can be charged from 20 to 80 percent in 40 minutes. Range: 600 km.
In short, this is the previously announced Volvo tractor for emission-free long-distance transport. The first Volvo with e-axle, and probably not the last. Due to the long range, the sophisticated axle configuration and a short charging time, this truck can (provided that the charging moments are planned properly) fully compete with diesel trucks in international transport.
These first photos have been revealed by Volvo so that customers can pre-register for purchase. Many details are still missing, such as weight, dimensions and whether or not the trailing axle is steered. Stay tuned. (June 9, 2025)
