Renault Trucks acquires Flexis and launches electric vans with revolutionary design

Renault Trucks is acquiring all shares in Flexis sas (a joint venture between Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, and the French logistics service provider CMA-CGM) and will launch three medium-sized electric vans this year. These are not existing models, but completely redesigned vehicles with a so-called SDV (software-defined vehicle) architecture and innovative designs.

The launch of these models is expected to take place in Hannover in September 2026.

The acquisition of shares by Renault Trucks is still subject to regulatory approval. Renault Trucks expects to double its van sales starting next year. The truck manufacturer currently sells two product lines in the van category: the Master and the Trafic – but these are manufactured by Renault Cars.

The Flexis vans will be Renault Trucks (part of Volvo Trucks) products that will also be offered by Renault Cars dealers. The roles are therefore reversed.

With the Flexis vans, Renault Trucks will offer a complete mobility concept. Because the vehicles are fully software-driven, the company can provide services in the areas of fleet monitoring, vehicle maintenance and updates, scheduling, security, and so on.

Although Renault Trucks is sparing with information, we can already mention the following variants:
– Flexis panel van, similar in size to a Trafic
– Flexis chassis cab, similar to a Trafic platform cab
– Flexis Delivery Van, a spectacular-looking parcel vehicle with integrated shelves and access to the load space from the cab.
