The small electric van from Stellantis (Peugeot ePartner, Citroën eBerlingo, Opel Combo-e, Fiat eDoblo) has been made off-road-capable in a special way by the French 4×4 specialist Dangel. The front (driven) axle is equipped with a so-called limited slip differential, a gearbox that prevents one of the wheels from slipping if the other wheel still has grip. In addition, the body has been raised by approximately 9 cm (depending on the version and the choice of tyres) and the underside is fitted with protective plating.
A 4×2 vehicle with anti-slip differential is slightly less capable of going off-road than a 4×4, but sufficient for most soft/loose surfaces to move forward. In addition, this TReK version has by far the most important feature of an off-road vehicle: a lot of ground clearance. Driving on a construction site, on a dirt road, through a roadside, these are things you can do with a Dangel TReK. Target group: construction companies, handyman companies, water boards, provinces, healthcare professionals, etc.
If you don’t want to go electric yet, Dangel can also convert a diesel to a 4×2 with “limited slip”. Incidentally, the conversion to a TReK version is much cheaper (around 3000 euros) than the conversion to 4×4 (around 10,000 euros).
We can also report that the small electric vans from Stellantis are now also available with (newly developed) Dangel 4×4 drive. Dangel also introduced a Berlingo / Partner / Combo / Doblo with a diesel engine on the front axle and an electric motor on the rear axle last year.
The choice of brand in the Stellantis range (Partner, Berlingo, Combo or Doblo) is not important, technically these vehicles are almost identical. The L1 has a loading length of 151 to 182 cm (depending on how you measure) and the L2 fits items that are 187 to 217 cm long. The loading capacity depends on what you tick on the order form – count on approximately 750 kg.
These Dangels are available with a special tow bar for a trailer, and can tow 750 kg. The TReK is not only available as a van, but also as a Flexcab (with a folding rear seat), capacity 5-6 people.
With a range of 330 km and a power of 136 hp / 100 kW, it can easily keep up with traffic and in most cases only needs to be charged once a day. The 51 kWh battery is located under the loading area. Charging to 80% at the fast charger can be done in 30 minutes.
