Since July 7th, 2024, all newly registered trailers in the EU must be equipped with a tyre pressure control system.
A TPRS (Tyre Pressure Regulation System) monitors the tyre pressure real-time and maintains it at an optimal level, even while driving. It uses the air installation on the trailer and maintains the preset pressure with a booster pump that sends air via the axle beam to the valve in the tyre. In case of loss of pressure (flat tyre), the system alerts the driver and inflates the tyre sufficiently to enable the driver to safely reach the workshop.
Approved TPRS systems are BPW AirSave and SAF Tire Pilot IQ.
