EU climate plans — charging stations for electric trucks — diesel prices up — only zero-emission vans

The European Commission has launched a comprehensive plan to green society in order to meet the EU’s climate targets. The following measures are important for transport companies:

– charging stations for electric trucks will be set up along main roads
– fuel suppliers will have to buy emission rights, which will be passed on to the diesel price, which will increase as a result
– a fund will be set up to help transport companies make their fleet sustainable
– by 2030, emissions from passenger cars and vans must be reduced by 50%. From 2035, only CO2-neutral vans may be sold

The plans still have to be approved by the European Parliament and adopted by the 27 EU countries.
