Pieter Smit Transport from Nieuw-Vennep, the Netherlands, specialises in transport at events such as concerts and festivals. Heiwo supplies Pieter Smit with a series of trailers that have been adapted for this purpose. The most striking feature is the second loading floor, which consists of two segments that can be operated independently of each other. Each of these segments is attached to four columns in the side wall, and has a loading capacity of 3000 kg. Pieter Smit uses this second floor to load loudspeaker boxes, for example, and then raise the floor as high as possible, leaving plenty of space on the low floor. Lifting and lowering is hydraulic, and the installation for this is accessible on the outside, at the chassis. The power supply is provided by batteries, so that the floor can still be operated after parking. It can also be connected to shore power.
This trailer has no tailgate. The lifting height is low thanks to the 19.5 inch wheels and the air suspension. The interior height is approximately three meters. The trailer is insulated, which is common in event transport to prevent condensation. The columns and hydraulic hoses of the lifting floor are neatly concealed in the wall. The floor is raised at the front (as a result, there is a step in the loading floor, at the neck) so that you can drive this trailer with a normal tractor. The tare weight of this Heiwo / Webtrailer is 10.6 tons, and with a gvw of 39 tons, a loading capacity of 28.4 tons remains.
