Actros three-axle truck chassis equipped with a steered single-air trailing axle. Intended as a solo motor vehicle, possibly with a trailer. The six-cylinder 12.8 liter 420 hp version is just one of the available engines. Also available as a Lowliner. Of course also available with a rigid trailing axle.
The chassis of the vehicle in the photo (in use at Saan Diemen) is equipped with a sliding tarpaulin body from Hertoghs, equipped with a sliding roof that can be slid open at both the front and the rear. A special feature is that the vehicle is equipped with a ten-ton Dhollandia tail lift. This makes it possible to load and unload heavy equipment. Saan uses this Actros for the transport of medical machines, such as MRI scanners. Saan was originally a removal company.
Due to the structure, this vehicle has a weight of 14098 kg. The load capacity is therefore 13902 kg. The 2800 series of the Actros has a nine-ton front axle and a 19-ton rear axle. Without superstructure, the gross payload is approximately 18 tons.
