Based on the new, stylish R4 E-Tech electric passenger car, Renault is introducing a van version with two seats and a 120 cm load space, accessible via a tailgate and two (small) side doors. The bulkhead is a mesh gate. The electric motor delivers a choice of 90 or 110 kW, combined with a 40 kWh (311 km range) or 52 kWh (413 km range) battery pack. Charging is possible with an AC charger (11 kW) or a DC fast charger (80 or 100 kW).
The vehicle is supplied by Renault dealers under full warranty; the conversion takes place in France.
Standard equipment includes: 18-inch wheels, a multimedia system with smartphone
integration, traffic sign recognition with warning, power windows and mirrors, lane keeping assist, electric handbrake, safe distance warning, reversing camera, rain sensor, emergency call, emergency braking system with pedestrian, cyclist, and cross-traffic detection, cruise control, air conditioning, and a parcel shelf for covering cargo. The cargo area has lashing eyes. There’s a compartment under the cargo floor for storing the charging cable.
The payload is very limited at 346-376 kg (including driver and passenger), making it impossible to carry heavy items. Renault is targeting this R4 Van at urban delivery services and professionals who want to take their tools with them.
