Volvo Trucks is launching a new Volvo FL 4×4, replacing the 2014 model. The FL 4×4 is a two-axle truck with high ground clearance and dual-axle drive, suitable for heavy-duty off-road work.
This new all-road truck is equipped with new front and rear axles and new axle ratios. Combined with a robust exterior, generous ground clearance, and the option for single-pneumatic tires, this upgraded model is capable of meeting the toughest demands – not only in the construction sector, but also in rescue services, fire services, energy and utilities, and defense applications.
Customers can choose between 12, 14, or 16 tonnes gross vehicle weight. The vehicle is available with the Volvo D8 engine, with engine outputs of 250, 280, or 320 hp. The 320 hp version is not available with a 12-ton gross vehicle weight (GVW) chassis; this is only available for the 14- and 16-tonners.
There are three cab options: a day cab for two people, a slightly longer comfort cab, and a crew cab with room for six. Specific optional equipment includes a winch, bull bar, headlight protectors, and extra transfer case protection for extreme off-road driving.
Gearboxes: 6-speed manual transmission; a 6-speed fully automatic transmission is available as an option.
