A special version of the Volvo Trucks FM Electric 6×2. This is a rigid chassis that has been shortened and fitted with a sliding fifth wheel so it can be used as a semi-trailer tractor. The customer chose this because it allows the vehicle to be fitted with a hydraulically steered trailing axle. This is not possible with an FM Electric tractor. The owner, Voet, therefore found a workaround.
With a wheelbase of 527 cm and a length of 750 cm, this is a very long tractor. Not one that can tow a 13.60 m semi-trailer, but a short semi-trailer. And this FM has a drawbar so it can also tow a trailer.
This FM has three electric motors. Together, they deliver 490 kW / 666 hp. Six batteries are attached to the chassis, with a total nominal capacity of 540 kWh, of which 380 kWh is usable energy. Charging takes two hours using a fast charger with a maximum output of 250 kW. Charging with a slow charger is also possible.
