The ZF e-comp Scroll is an electrically powered air compressor developed for medium and heavy commercial vehicles (both hybrid and fully electric). The oil-free system operates on the principle of a spiral compressor (scroll technology), ensuring quiet and vibration-free air compression. The noise level is approximately 67 dB(A) at a flow rate of 250 liters per minute – comparable to the noise level in an office environment.
The e-comp Scroll is characterized by high energy efficiency and can be switched off when compressed air is not required. Powered by an integrated electric motor, the system compresses air in a single stage up to 12.5 bar and operates at variable speeds to precisely meet specific requirements. This allows the compressor to meet a wide range of customer needs, particularly regarding system pressure and installation space.
Thanks to the oil-free design, oil and leaks are completely eliminated. Apart from replacing the air filter, no maintenance is required. The system is also equipped with an integrated frequency converter and liquid cooling, ensuring the exhaust temperature remains below 90°C.
