Krone Trailer Implements New Distribution Concept: New Logistics Center.
To meet current and future market demands in the commercial vehicle sector regarding spare parts supply, the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group has commissioned its new central logistics center. With an investment volume of approximately €8.5 million for this groundbreaking project, the modern distribution center in Herzlake boasts a total area of 38,000 square meters.
The 8,400 square meters of covered storage space are spread across twelve levels. This provides space for 17,500 Euro pallets and 16,000 containers for smaller spare parts. Currently, around 40 employees pick and pack more than 23,000 items per month and ship them in the shortest possible time. For customers and service partners, all available parts are shipped overnight or within a defined time window as needed.
The central spare parts center also serves key branch locations in Istanbul, Budapest, Lyon, Scandinavia, and the Baltic states. The portfolio of the shipping center in Herzlake includes spare parts for trailers, superstructures, container chassis, flatbed and box semi-trailers, CEP vehicles of the courier express services as well as for the company’s own Krone trailer axles.
