A specially equipped 6×2 chassis featuring a modified battery configuration, optimized for the transport of (BDF) swap bodies. It is powered by the PACCAR EX-D2 electric motor, delivering 350 kW (480 hp) and 2,400 Nm of torque. An automated three-speed transmission is integrated into the powertrain.
Five battery packs with a total capacity of 525 kWh (462 kWh usable) are optimally distributed across the vehicle. Charging from 20% to 80% takes approximately 60 minutes at a charging power of 325 kW. The maximum range per charge is up to 550 km. Instead of placing a battery pack under the cab, four packs have been cleverly positioned further back on the vehicle. This reduces the load on the front axle by approximately 700 kg and optimizes weight distribution, allowing for an increase in payload capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes.
The battery packs are positioned to ensure access to the twistlocks of the Mildner Multi-BDF superstructure and to guarantee compatibility with various BDF swap bodies—types C782, C745, and C715—as well as different parking heights. As with all vehicles in the new DAF generation, visibility sets new standards: a large windscreen, a low window line and sill, large side windows with a low frame height, and an optional passenger-side window improve all-round visibility and, consequently, direct vision. Enhanced safety regarding indirect vision is provided by DAF Corner View technology, which offers a 280-degree view around the cab and eliminates blind spots. This is further enhanced by the digital camera system integrated into the interior mirror.
All electric DAF vehicles are equipped with LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries, which are free from conflict minerals such as cobalt and nickel. They offer high thermal stability and can be fully charged daily without compromising service life. DAF provides an eight-year warranty on the batteries.
