In collaboration with its commercial partner, Noll Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH from Künzell, Germany, DAF Trucks Deutschland GmbH presents a DAF XF 530 FAT 6×4, converted into a vehicle for timber transport. The conversion was carried out by Janzen System GmbH & Co. KG, based in Werlte (D). This DAF XF is fitted with a rear-mounted Kesla 2212T crane, complete with an operator’s cabin and a load-sensing hydraulic system.
The body is equipped with aluminum Alucar stakes for transporting round timber. The load floor is constructed from Hardox steel, while the front bulkhead is made of aluminum.
Power is provided by the renowned PACCAR MX-13 engine—a 6-cylinder unit delivering 390 kW (530 hp) and a maximum torque of 2,700 Nm between 900 and 1,125 rpm. The engine is paired with a 12-speed TraXon 12TX2620 automated transmission, an MX engine brake, and a ZF Intarder.
A key strength of this DAF XF is its maneuverability, thanks to a short wheelbase and a 49-degree steering angle. Furthermore, the chassis is highly convenient for body mounting: a plug-and-play interface combined with a 50 mm hole pattern allows for a quick and cost-effective installation process. This makes the XF chassis exceptionally well-suited for forestry applications. Additional advantages include the large windshield, a low window line and sill, large side windows with a low frame height, and an optional kerb-view window on the passenger side. A DAF Corner View system provides a 280-degree field of vision around the cab.
