Renault is currently developing a new compact van that is fully electric. The (as yet unnamed) van consists of a platform on which various body variants can be built. The most striking detail is that the engine is in the back and directly drives the rear axle. Introduction date: end of 2026.
The project is called Flexis. Flexis is a start-up company that is designing this completely new vehicle concept together with Renault Cars and the Volvo Group. The vans will be marketed under three brand names: Flexis, Renault and Renault Trucks.
The manufacturer has not yet released any specifications, but it has released a photo. It shows, firstly, a Flexis closed van with the size of approximately the Kangoo. Secondly, a platform cab – this looks more like a chassis cab with an open loading platform in the photo. Thirdly, a high version, called a step-in by Renault Trucks. This seems to have been specially designed as a parcel van. From the cabin, you can reach the loading space via an interior door.
More details about these new vehicles will be announced in the course of 2025.
