Volvo Trucks FH Electric 6×2 / 6×4 — electric rigid truck chassis. Truck chassis, 6×2 or 6×4, electric, 540 kW, range approx. 500-600 km, also available as FH Aero.
The electrically powered Volvo FH is now also being built as a rigid truck. The customer can choose between a 6×2 or a 6×4. With this, Volvo Trucks is targeting heavy long-distance transport, with trailers or as a Long Vehicle Combination (LHV). The maximum train weight is even 80 tonnes. The power output of the two electric motors is 540 kW. The buyer can choose between the FH with the standard cab or the streamlined FH Aero cab.
With a net battery capacity of 640 kWh, approximately 500 kilometers can be driven on a single charge with a total weight of 60 tonnes; for lighter use, this can increase to more than 600 kilometers. Charging is possible at high power: MCS charging up to 680 kW; charging from 20% to 80% in approximately 36 minutes. CCS2 charging up to 360 kW; charging from 20% to 80% in approximately 70 minutes.
The Volvo FH Electric rigid truck features the same new powertrain as the latest generation Volvo FH Electric, FM Electric, and FMX Electric that Volvo Trucks presented earlier this year. The powertrain is combined with an eight-speed gearbox.
In addition to various AC and DC ePTOs, a gearbox PTO is also available, which can be used while driving. This makes the truck suitable for a wide range of transport applications.
The FH Electric features a battery monitoring system. Volvo Trucks has also improved the insulation of the battery pack. As a result, the batteries continue to operate more efficiently and retain more energy, even in bad weather.
Hub reduction axles are also available on this new version. These offer greater ground clearance, better starting performance at high vehicle weights, and a higher technical axle load. This makes the truck suitable for other applications as well, such as round timber transport and construction transport.
