KGM Torres EVX Van. Compact commercial vehicle, electric drive, load capacity 520 kg

The Korean KGM has been on the market in Europe since 2024 via the Spanish import company Astara. This Torres EVX Van is an electrically powered SUV, the rear section of which has been converted into a loading space. As a result, this Torres has legally become a van, with two seats in the front. In terms of appearance and dimensions, this vehicle strongly resembles a Range Rover, except that the KGM is much lighter than the Range Rover.

For the fiscal authorities the Netherlands, this KGM is a passenger car. This is because the loading space dimensions do not meet the requirements for a van. The tax benefits are therefore limited. However, this KGM is an environmentally friendly and much cheaper alternative to a Range Rover-like SUV with practical loading space.

KGM has the battery and drivetrain from the Chinese BYD. The 73.4 kWh battery has a factory warranty of 10 years (max. 1 million km) and the range is 441 km. Charging can be done with a fast charger, up to 120 kW. With a V2L connector, the KGM can supply power to 220V devices, so that it can work on location.

The KGM Torres has all the features of a modern electric car, such as a digital dashboard, a central display, adaptive cruise control, emergency stop system and lane keeping system. The maximum towing weight is 1500 kg. That is more than most electric cars but less than diesel vans.
