The electrically powered Renault Trucks D-Wide, known as the E-Tech, has been in production for four years now, and interest in this truck is growing rapidly. One of its applications is transporting waste containers over short distances. Here we see a three-axle version with a liftable steered tag axle, with a gross vehicle weight of either 26 or 27 tonnes. The range depends on the selected battery pack. Charging the drive battery is possible with either a fast charger or a 380V shore power connection.
This E-Tech D-Wide is equipped with a HIAB Ultima 18S hooklift system, the hydraulics of which are electrically driven from the chassis’ PTO. The HIAB Ultima system is one of the most modern hooklift systems on the market. For example, it features LoadBoost, which automatically adjusts the damping to the weight of the container (whether loaded or empty). Another feature of this system is Sequence Performance, which ensures that all functions are performed in the correct sequence, with the simplest operation. Also worth mentioning: Safe Positioning (automatically positions the container correctly based on its length), Integrated Load Weighing (built-in weighing function), FutureTouch (display with controls in the cab), and Connectivity (distributing status messages to the planning department).
