Trailer Dynamics TD M200 / M400 / M600 eMega Trailer. High-volume trailer with an electric drive axle.
High-volume 13.6 m trailer equipped with an electric axle. This trailer is based on a Krone mega trailer and features an electric motor that drives the center axle with a maximum output of 360 kW (continuous) / 580 kW (peak). The actual drive power depends on speed and load and is electronically controlled.
The drive battery is mounted to the frame and has a capacity of 187 kWh (M200), 367 kWh (M400), or 551 kWh (M600). Charging this battery is achieved through recuperation (generating power from kinetic energy) or by charging at a charging station with a maximum output of 350 kW (CCS Type 2 connector). The trailer has a dual-voltage electrical system: 800V for propulsion and 28V for regular power (lighting, etc.).
The eTrailer offers significant savings potential. When used in combination with a diesel tractor, diesel savings of 30 to 50 percent are possible. However, this e-trailer can also be used with an electric tractor, giving the combination a much greater range.
The exact savings depend on various factors, such as routes, cargo, and driving style. Trailer Dynamics has developed a calculation program to calculate these savings. The savings are most significant if the user has their own power supply (for example, a connection on their own property, possibly powered by solar panels).
The TD eMega in the photo has a curtainsider body and can therefore be loaded and unloaded from three sides. This type of trailer is often used for transporting car parts, among other things.
