Volvo Trucks has added this FMX variant to its delivery program. This is a construction chassis suitable for building a tipper, for example, or a container loading system. Good driving characteristics on both paved and unpaved surfaces.
The maximum power of 660 hp / 490 kW continuous (torque: 2400 Nm) is generated by three (!) parallel electric motors, placed under the cabin. So you don’t have to worry about power, except that you are not too enthusiastic when accelerating. The energy reservoir of this truck consists of five battery packs with a total of 450 kWh, of which 310 kWh can be used. Plugging in is possible with an AC connection (43 kW) or DC charging station of maximum 250 kW.
This Volvo chassis is on a 10-ton air-sprung front axle, and two 10.5-ton air-sprung rear axles. Technically GVW, 31 tons, legally 28 tons. The FMX in the photo is equipped with a Meiller Trigenius tipper body, and has an empty weight of 11,910 kg, and a payload of 12,500 kg. It is also permitted to tow a trailer with a maximum total weight of 14 tons with this truck.
