Eberspächer Purem – De-Hydrator. System for removing water from fuel cells.
Fuel cells generate electricity by combining hydrogen and oxygen. This produces water (vapor), which must be removed from the vehicle. From the outside, this can be visible as steam. On a sunny day this is not much of a problem, but in foggy or humid weather it can cause nuisance.
Eberspächer developed the Purem De-Hydrator. This ensures that the steam cools down and condenses into water. The water is then discharged to the ground via a pipe. Furthermore, the system directs the warm air back to the exhaust outlet to reduce steam concentration.
Eberspächer has tested and approved the De-Hydrator version and is now offering the product to truck manufacturers building fuel cell vehicles.
