ZF transfers production and sales of OptiLock to Imbema. Development, production and sales of trailer locks.
Friedrichshafen-based ZF has transferred the production and sales of OptiLock (load space security products) to the Dutch Imbema, specialist in load and vehicle security. From now on, production, stock, sales and aftersales for OptiLock® will be managed from Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. This acquisition will enable the brand to continue to grow and strengthen its position throughout Europe.
Both ZF and Imbema see the transition as a win-win situation. OptiLock has been part of the portfolio of ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) division since 2016. Over the years, ZF has established OptiLock as a trusted brand among trailer manufacturers and fleet owners. However, shifting market priorities have led ZF to focus more on its core business.
Mark Cuyx, Product Group Leader at the ZF Group: “With the acquisition of the OptiLock product line by Imbema, we are confident that the brand is in good hands. The excellent reputation of cargo security solutions among European transporters is maintained and further strengthened. In addition, the OptiLock remote control will also continue to be supported by the SCALAR EVO Guard (or Transics TX-connect solutions) from ZF.”
Imbema’s managing director Marco de Wit: “We continue to grow as an important supplier partner for the transport sector. For years, we have built the SBS brand within Imbema into a fast-growing product line for trailer protection. At Imbema, we believe in complete security solutions, not just standalone products. The acquisition of OptiLock fits perfectly into this strategy.”
“We manage research, production, distribution and service all under one roof. This means that we are not just acquiring OptiLock, but can also actively develop it further. This allows us to position the brand as the quality product that it is, within the right market segment.”
