Mercedes-Benz shows ultra-luxury limousine as top variant of the VAN.EA

Mercedes-Benz shows ultra-luxury limousine as top variant of the VAN.EA. Bizarre luxury makes you wonder if this is not a joke.

Mercedes-Benz has released images of the Vision V, the vehicle that is to be the successor to the Vito and the V-Class. For the time being, it is the passenger car version, in the perception of Mercedes a Luxus-Limousine. The photos are so unusual that you wonder if this is serious, or an April Fool’s joke. The appearance of the new Van may seem bizarrely futuristic, but the interior drags you 100 years into the future. The version shown has lounge chairs in the back from which the passengers look out on a 65 inch screen (say 1.5 by 1 meter), controlled by 7 projectors and 42 speakers. The passengers have, among other things, a built-in refrigerator and a fold-up chessboard. The driver and front passenger sit opposite a full-width display with three integrated screens for vehicle information and entertainment.

Mercedes-Benz emphasizes that this is the “show car”, the top of the luxury segment. There will of course also be simple versions, and the van variant will be focused on transporting goods. It is not without reason that the development platform is called VAN.EA: Van Electric Architecture.

The new model should be in showrooms from 2026. It is not yet clear whether the new V will also be available with combustion engines. (22 April 2025)
