FGS E-Lowliner — zero-emission distribution vehicle. Electric van with a low chassis and loading platform, loading length up to approximately 6 meters.
The Lowliner from the German company FGS is a long-standing concept for vans in distribution. It uses a low aluminum chassis in a front-wheel-drive van, with the rear resting on two axles with 13-inch wheels. This chassis accommodates a large loading platform, without internal wheel recesses and with a long, hinged tailgate.
These vehicles are now also available with electric drive, including the Mercedes-Benz e-Sprinter, Volkswagen e-Transporter, and Renault Master E-Tech. The result is a vehicle suitable for journeys with frequent stops (unloading times are shorter than with a hydraulic tailgate) and emission-free, thus allowing access to low-emission zones. Noteworthy: loading platform lengths of more than six meters are possible. These e-vans have a gross vehicle weight of 4250 kg and are suitable for driving with a category B driving license.
The approach angle with the tailgate open is approximately 13 degrees. This concept is used by hospitality, bakeries, catering, textile services, flower/plant cultivation, and urban distribution. The cargo box is available in many versions: closed, insulated, refrigerated, with or without a side door, and with sliding tarpaulins. Options include tie rails, load bars, and other load securing systems.
FGS vehicles come standard with a simple control panel in the cab, interior and exterior LED lighting, and a reversing camera.
