Kögel Cool Liteshell. Refrigerated trailer, lightweight design, optional double-deck loading system.
Kögel is introducing a new type of refrigerated semi-trailer called the Kögel Cool Liteshell. The Burtenbach-based manufacturer estimates that this trailer is approximately one thousand kilograms lighter than comparable models. This weight saving is achieved by eliminating the outer steel layer in the side panels and utilizing plastic materials instead.
Despite this, the Cool Liteshell offers the same robustness and reliability as other Kögel refrigerated trailers. For instance, a second loading deck can be created using crossbeams that clip into vertical anchor rails integrated into the side walls.
Kögel Trailer GmbH explains that Liteshell panels do not require an outer steel layer; instead, the outer shell consists of a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) top layer. The panel is highly stable yet flexible, absorbing dynamic forces during transit. Free-foaming PU cores ensure more efficient insulation and superior cooling performance. The trailer is suitable for all types of refrigerated and frozen transport. The Kögel Climatex air duct system, located beneath the roof, ensures even distribution of the cooled air.
The floor features crossmembers made of glass-fiber-reinforced plastic (GRP) rather than the conventional wooden ones.
Kögel employs an optimal anti-corrosion treatment: the chassis is KTL-coated, while mounting components are either KTL-coated, coil-coated, or galvanized.
