New model gantry crane container lifting system from market leader VDL Container Systems. Characteristic of this new model are the hexagonal lifting arms, which distribute the load more efficiently across the installation. Due to their shape, the arms direct the forces directly to the center, perfectly aligned with the direction of movement during lifting, unloading, and tipping. The lifting capacity is 14 tons. With fully extended telescopic arms, the capacity is 8.8 tons.
Thanks to their geometry, the angled lifting arms provide extra clearance and controlled placement of containers, even in complex situations. The optimized alignment with the cylinders results in efficient power transfer with reduced stress on the structure. The result is a stable and reliable loading and unloading process.
The improved loading platform features a lightweight construction and efficient power transfer. The modular design enables quick installation and easy integration of options. This ensures the Stratus system remains flexible and can be expanded later.
This installation features a modular locking system that allows containers to be secured on the left and right sides. The buyer can choose between manual or hydraulic stops and additional securing. Front and rear securing options can also be installed, depending on the container type. The system is suitable for various container sizes.
The Stratus can be equipped with a hydraulic netting system that covers the container with a net after loading. The system has been developed for ease of use and ergonomics, ensuring safe transport without the risk of falling cargo.
The Stratus features an automatic soft-stop function. This prevents abrupt stops and unwanted rocking of the container. It is safer, resulting in less wear and tear and greater comfort.
The advanced remote control of the VDL Stratus offers intuitive and safe operation. The buttons are illuminated, making them clearly visible even in challenging conditions. The system features built-in inclinometers to ensure safe operation in case of tilting. The vehicle’s tilt angle is readable in the cab and on the remote control.
With Controller VDL CAN Plus technology, the control of the VDL Stratus is fully tailored to the selected options. The software is custom-configured. VDL I-Control enhances safety by providing a warning via the display in the event of excessive vehicle tilt. Important messages can be communicated to the truck. The system status is visible at a glance on the I-Control display located in the cab, and a diagnosis can be made quickly in the event of a malfunction. Optionally, the driving speed can be automatically limited when the gantry arm system is not in a safe transport position. Programmable radio or CAN Plus® controls are equipped with built-in safety functions. The display also features various counters and automatically provides a service message upon reaching the set number of PTO hours. Loading floor length: selectable 3875 – 4125 – 4425 mm.
