Volvo Trucks is using this FH Aero, designed by Anne (11), for educational purposes. The goal: zero fatalities from traffic accidents. Volvo certainly has an advantage: its trucks have proven to be safest.
Reducing the number of traffic fatalities to zero remains a goal for Volvo Trucks. New Volvo trucks are now equipped as standard with numerous safety features that prevent a lot of casualties. Nevertheless, attention to this topic remains necessary. The Dutch importer Volvo Trucks Nederland is now launching a new initiative: educating young road users with a strikingly styled FH Aero I-Save. Eleven-year-old Anne from Amersfoort (NL) drew the design. She won a competition issued by a trucker magazine.
“I was inspired by the Street Art Museum in Amsterdam. There I saw graffiti letters and cheerful monsters – I combined them in my design. It turned out exactly how I wanted it. I will never forget this design and the fact that I won,” says the winning student.
The Volvo FH Aero I-Save XXL, featuring Anne’s design, will be used for educational purposes, such as road safety lessons about blind spots in primary schools. The truck will also be present at events throughout the Netherlands. With this campaign, Volvo Trucks Netherlands emphasizes the importance of involving children in transport and traffic education.
The Volvo FH Aero is a long-distance truck designed with maximum aerodynamics and lowest possible fuel consumption as a starting point. Buyers can choose from various powertrains, suitable for diesel, HVO, LNG, bio-LNG, or electric power. The Volvo FH and FM — even without the designer exterior — are considered the safest trucks currently for sale: they were the only truck models to achieve the maximum five-star rating in the 2024 Euro NCAP truck safety test.
