Rhiwa Quality ASPLe – open cargo bed for the Kia PV5 chassis

Rhiwa Quality ASPLe – an open cargo bed for the Kia PV5 chassis. This lightweight aluminium cargo bed features a load length of 245 cm and is optionally available with a tarpaulin cover.

Specifically developed for the Kia PV5 chassis, this aluminium cargo bed accommodates at least two Euro-pallets (load length 245 cm, load width 185 cm) and has a load capacity of approximately 800 kg. As the Kia PV5 is a 100% zero-emission (battery-electric) light commercial vehicle, this combination is well-suited for a variety of tasks, including operations within low-emission zones. The unit is manufactured by the German company Suer; the name “ASPLe” stands for “Aluminium-Schraub-Pritsche-Leicht für Elektrofahrzeuge” (lightweight, bolt-together aluminium cargo bed for electric vehicles).

This Rhiwa Quality cargo bed includes an integrated load-securing system: airline-style tracks and six dual-purpose tie-down points, all compliant with the European standard EN 12640. Furthermore, the stainless-steel hinges on the side boards and tailgate feature built-in hooks for attaching a cargo net (also available through Imbema Rhiwa).

A retractable, fold-out step at the rear provides easy access to the cargo bed.

Safety has also been a priority in the design of the lighting and side guards. The marker lights are recessed and remain visible even when the side boards or tailgate are folded down.

Additionally, the cargo bed can be fitted with side guards made of matte-black powder-coated stainless steel. These provide extra protection for cyclists and pedestrians, particularly in busy urban traffic. From open cargo bed to covered trailer-style body

The ASPLe cargo bed can be expanded with a transport rack designed for carrying long items, such as ladders and pipes. The rack can be mounted at either the front or the rear and has a load capacity of 150 kilograms. Additional “Airline” tracks allow for secure cargo tie-down, while a rubber strip on the top crossbar prevents items from sliding or rattling. When mounted at the front, the driver’s view through the rear window remains unobstructed.

For those who need to transport cargo under cover, a version with a tarpaulin (canvas) superstructure is also available. This creates a weather-resistant cargo space with an internal height of nearly 1.50 meters. The tarpaulin can be opened and rolled up on three sides. It comes in white (RAL 9016) as standard, though custom versions in corporate colors or featuring company branding are also available.

Because the aluminum cargo bed was developed specifically for the Kia PV5 Chassis Cab, it fits the chassis precisely, allowing for quick installation. The ASPLe cargo bed is available in the Netherlands and Belgium through Imbema. It is supplied fully assembled, though it can also be provided as a kit for bodybuilders upon request.
