Volvo Trucks at IAA 2026 — new powertrains and technologies for the future. Highlight: Volvo FH with hydrogen combustion engine.
At IAA 2026 (September 15 to 20, 2026, Hanover), Volvo Trucks (Hall 11) will show where it stands today and where it is headed. New trucks, powertrains, and services help transport operators increase their profitability, work more efficiently, and look ahead with confidence.
2026 and 2027 will be important years for Volvo Trucks. Can it maintain its leading position in electric truck sales? For years, Volvo has been the pioneer in the field of e-trucks, sometimes staying years ahead of other manufacturers. At IAA 2026, Volvo Trucks will demonstrate where it stands today and the opportunities it offers for customers, the industry, and society. The range of trucks, technologies, and services will be presented at the stand.
Incidentally, the era of combustion trucks is not over yet. In addition to electric vehicles, there are also diesel and bio-LNG trucks on display… and available to drive. Eight trucks are on display at the Volvo stand, and seven additional vehicles are available for test drives. Note: Volvo is starting its test drives at Hall 11, not at the test drive hall. Testing takes place on the IAA grounds and on public roads. The absolute highlight here is the Volvo FH with a hydrogen combustion engine (introduction expected around 2028). Although it is still a test model, (potential) customers are allowed to try it out.
Visitors will also have the chance to personally experience the new Volvo FH Aero Electric 6×2 with a range of up to 700 km, and to test the new FH Aero with D13 and G13 engines. The test fleet is completed with a Volvo FM Electric and a Volvo FL 4×4 crew cab. Trucks on display are the Volvo FH Aero Electric extended range with e-axle, Volvo FH Aero on (bio-)LNG, Volvo FH Aero diesel, Volvo FH16 Aero diesel, Volvo FH Electric, Volvo FM Electric, Volvo FL Electric, and the Volvo VNL (North American version).
Volvo Trucks will be paying even greater attention to the complete range of services for fleet owners. The emphasis lies, among other things, on advice regarding the selection of the right powertrain, driver support regarding safe driving and performance, service contracts, workshop coverage, financing, and digital services for maximum uptime. Volvo Trucks is also demonstrating how customers are taking the next step with alternative and renewable fuels, charging and refueling infrastructure, and the efficient deployment of mixed fleets.
