IAA Transportation Hanover: More than 30 startups present themselves. Innovative solutions, artificial intelligence, zero-emission transport.
From September 15 to 20, 2026, the IAA Transportation 2026 trade fair brings together interesting players from the commercial vehicle, logistics, and transport sectors – from global industrial companies to innovative technology startups. This year, more than thirty startups are presenting their innovations. The focus is on future-oriented solutions in areas such as driver assistance systems, autonomous transport solutions, load management, and other digital applications. They will demonstrate how digital technologies, artificial intelligence, automation, alternative drive systems, and innovative business models are driving the transformation of the transport sector.
“The mobility and transport sector is facing a profound change. Decarbonization, digitalization, automation, and the increasing demand for efficiency call for new ideas and bold solutions. Startups play a crucial role in this transformation by rapidly developing technologies and giving the sector a new impetus. Innovation arises from collaboration between established and new companies,” says VDA Director Jürgen Mindel. During tours on September 16 (Startup Day), visitors will gain insights into selected companies and their innovations. The tours are led by startup experts, creating opportunities for a direct exchange with the founders. Startup Day concludes with a networking event organized by Rethink Ventures.
The IAA invites people interested in innovation to a hackathon on September 17. Large and medium-sized companies will be present to develop innovative formats and challenges aimed at creating practical solutions for current challenges. Individuals can also participate: they will be assigned to a team on the spot and can immediately contribute their ideas and expertise.
