Schmitz Cargobull / Berger Ecotrail – Lightweight aerodynamic curtain-sided semi-trailer. Developed in collaboration with Begoma Logistics – 10 percent fuel savings.
Schmitz Cargobull and Begoma Logistics from Stockholm present a jointly developed aerodynamic curtain-sided trailer that results in a 10 percent fuel saving. Key features of this trailer: a lightweight Berger Ecotrail frame, two widespread axles with a large overhang, Dymaxa sideskirts, and the Schmitz Ecofix system, which allows the rear of the semi-trailer to be lower than the front.
The presentation took place on August 19, 2026, during Elmia Lastbil in Jönköping.
“It is the first of its kind and offers significant fuel savings for conventional road transport, something the market has been asking for for a long time,” says Erik Malmberg, Traffic Director at Begoma. The Berger Ecotrail with Ecofix is currently available as a single unit and is specifically designed for the transport of Begoma between Sweden and Italy. It is equipped with a coil holder for the transport of steel from Sweden, with the option for conventional loading to optimize import freight on the return journey.
